Preliminary Moonrise in the Pacific (2007-08 edition)
The moon rises at sunset from the Pacific Ocean, Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 in Los Angeles. The moon will rise about 9:30 p.m. PST. For the faint-of-heart, the Moon will be near the star Aldebaran. The moon will be making its second quarter. [Credit: Jim Mone, AP Photo/L.A. Times]

So I got to thinking, and I came up with an even better prediction for tomorrow night. The moon will set around 9:30 p.m. PST. That's right, I think the moon will be 9:30 p.m. in the Pacific Ocean (towards Santa Monica or Los Angeles).
Okay, so how do we know this?
I know this because the moon has a penumbra, or shadow, around it in the Pacific. be359ba680
